Modern vehicle features could save your life

Every time you get behind the wheel, you risk getting into a life-altering crash. Of course, you’ll probably get from “A” to “B” just fine without getting into a collision, and this is why driving a vehicle can seem so deceptively safe. In fact, one false move by a negligent driver could cost you your life in an instant, which is why you may want to buy the newest vehicle available that is equipped with all the modern safety features.

Here are some safety features you might want to make sure your next vehicle has:

Adaptive cruise control (ACC)

This is a special kind of cruise control that comes with radar and sensors to lock your vehicle onto the car in front of it, so that you keep a safe distance from the vehicle. The ACC will automatically speed up and slow down your car, so you don’t have to do it yourself. Another benefit is that if ACC expects you’re about to get into a crash, it will brake to stop your car and even tighten your seatbelts.

Automatic emergency braking (AEB)

This is an excellent safety feature that scans ahead of your car to sense any potential collisions. If something is happening in front of your vehicle that you don’t happen to notice, AEB automatically brakes to slow your car down and stop as quickly as possible — often faster than human reaction times.

Blind spot detection

This is a special feature that warns you about vehicles that could be in your blind spots and even vehicles that are approaching your blind spots so that you don’t accidentally drive into them.

Modern safety features in vehicles could save your life, but they are no substitute for safe and responsible driving habits. If another motorist happens to violate vehicle laws and hurts you, or through negligence or recklessness causes you to suffer injuries, you may have a viable personal injury claim to pursue in Arizona civil court.
