Police officer driving to an accident gets involved in a crash

Police officers face dangerous working conditions, especially in emergency situations. Even when they take proper precautions, they can get seriously injured in many different ways.

The risks became very clear around 5 p.m. on March 24 when an officer with the Glendale Police Department got a call about a car accident. He responded and began driving to the crash scene to assist those involved and help control traffic.

Unfortunately, as the officer arrived at the first crash site, another car slammed into his vehicle. He suffered serious injuries in the wreck. Emergency crews had to respond to the scene again so that they could rush the officer to the hospital. He is expected to survive.

One question that always comes up in these types of accidents is whether or not the police warned other drivers properly of the emergency situation. Media reports note that the police officer had the emergency lights on at the time of the second crash.

All of this happened in Glendale, near Missouri and 59th Avenues. Law enforcement responded and blocked off the roads around the site to investigate and keep everyone safe.

On busy roads, one simple mistake can cause things to spiral out of control in a hurry. Many multi-car accidents happen in mere seconds and drivers who did nothing wrong get dragged into the chaos. This can lead to serious injuries, high medical bills, missed time at work and much more. Therefore, it is very important for those who do get injured to know about all of the legal options they have to seek compensation for their injuries.
