Woman flees wrong-way accident, then gets hit by another car

A strange multi-vehicle accident recently happened in Arizona, putting at least two people in the hospital. One of them was both involved in the initial crash and then hit while on foot.

Per reports, a car was headed the wrong way on Loop 202 at around 1:35 a.m., on Saturday, April 27. The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) says they got a call from a concerned party about a car traveling against traffic.

Before they could stop the car, it crashed into a pickup truck that was heading east — the correct direction for the lanes. The impact was violent enough that the truck rolled. The driver of that vehicle suffered injuries, which are thought to be nonlife-threatening, and emergency crews took them to the hospital.

However, DPS then says that a woman got out of the wrong-way vehicle and tried to run from the crash scene. While running on the transition ramp between Loop 202 and Loop 101, she got hit by another car.

Though she had gotten through the initial crash without serious injuries, she was badly hurt in the second crash, and she was also rushed to a nearby medical center. The authorities had to close down the road for nearly six hours while doing clean-up and an investigation, not opening it back up until about 7:30 a.m.

Have you gotten injured in an accident caused by a driver who made a serious error, such as driving the wrong way on a one-way road? You may not have been able to avoid that crash, but you may be able to seek financial compensation for your costs.
