What post-accident chronic pain feels like

If you are seriously injured in a car accident, you could wind up suffering from chronic pain for months or even years after the crash. Some people have to deal with it for the rest of their lives. If you have a back or spine injury, for example, although it may technically heal, you may always have back pain when you wake up in the morning or physically exert yourself.

When considering the ramifications of a car accident, you must think of the way that dealing with chronic pain is going to change your life. The cost to you is far more than the medical bills and lost wages.

For instance, one young woman said that all she wanted to do while suffering from chronic pain was go home and lie in bed, trying to seek rest and relief. She said it was exhausting. She wanted to escape social situations that she should have enjoyed. She always felt like she had to fake it and pretend to be happy when she was actually miserable.

Another woman said that she did not remember what it felt like to not be in pain. It interrupted her sleep cycle every single night. She never felt refreshed. She couldn’t even do simple things, like fixing her hair in the morning, because sometimes the pain was just too much.

Everyone’s experience with lasting pain will be different depending on many factors, like the location and severity of the injury. If you or a loved is injured due to the actions or negligence of another driver, find out what legal options you have to get the compensation you need.
