Impairment suspected in fatal car accident

There may be few types of driving behaviors as dangerous as operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Those who drive while impaired not only place their own safety at risk, but their decisions could also endanger the lives of others nearby. One person was arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired following a recent car accident that claimed the lives of two women in Arizona.

Fatal crash

Law enforcement agents advised that they responded to reports of the incident on a recent Thursday. According to initial investigations, the crash occurred as the driver of a sedan was attempting to turn into a private entrance. While many of the details surrounding the accident remain unclear, authorities assert that another vehicle proceeded to collide with the sedan shortly thereafter.

Reports indicate that two occupants in the sedan both suffered fatal harm and passed away at the scene of the crash. Authorities have advised that impairment appears to have been a contributing factor and that the driver of the other vehicle is now facing charges in relation to the incident. It is no secret that incidents involving similar forms of negligence can have disastrous results and dealing with the sudden loss of someone close under such circumstances can be a harrowing process.

Where to turn

Individuals who lose a family member in a car accident involving an impaired driver may wish to know more about the next steps to take to seek restitution, but they might not be certain where to turn for advice on their available legal options. Fortunately, there are attorneys in Arizona who can examine the incident and provide a person with guidance on the best course of action with which to proceed. Such guidance could prove integral to helping place a person in a better position to seek the full amount of restitution entitled through a wrongful death claim.
