2 injured, 1 killed in car accident involving wrong way driver

Impairment and speeding are two common examples of dangerous driving behaviors, both of which continue to be leading causes of serious collisions. Accidents involving the presence of speeding and impairment may also run a greater risk of carrying dire repercussions. A recent car accident involving the suspected presence of similar safety hazards has reportedly claimed the life of one person and left two others with injuries in Arizona.

Crash reports

According to reports, the incident began when authorities received a call about a wrong way driver at around 3 a.m. on a recent Saturday. Soon after entering the opposite lanes of traffic, the car collided head-on with a second vehicle. While an investigation into the initial incident was underway, authorities say that the driver of a third car approached the location at a high rate of speed and crashed into the second vehicle.

Law enforcement agents have advised that an investigation into the two crashes remains ongoing and state that impairment in suspected in both incidents. Speed is also listed as a contributing factor in the second incident, as authorities say the driver of this vehicle may have been traveling up to 100 mph at the time. Reports indicate that the driver of the first car died at the scene of the crash, while two others suffered injuries in the process.

Negligent driving behaviors

Negligent driving behaviors such as impairment and speeding only act to increase the risks a dangerous car accident might occur, and the fallout of such incidents could carry dire ramifications. Individuals in Arizona who suffer severe or permanent harm under similar circumstances may wish to know more about the next steps to take to seek restitution, but the process can be complex. Fortunately, there are attorneys who can evaluate the incident and assist a person in preparing to pursue the full amount of compensation to which he or she is entitled to receive.
