Car accident involving speeding driver proves fatal

Drivers who operate a vehicle at excessive speeds may struggle to handle a variety of scenarios. Such behavior may not only be dangerous for the driver, as those who encounter similar forms of negligence may struggle to react in time to escape harm’s way. A recent car accident involving a driver who was traveling at speeds of up to 115 mph has claimed the life of a woman in Arizona and left her 4-year-old daughter in critical condition.

Speed-related crash

According to reports, the incident took place at around 8 p.m. on a recent Tuesday. An investigation into the incident indicates that the driver of a car was traveling westbound at excessive speeds when the car crashed into a second vehicle. Authorities indicate that the car was initially moving at speeds of up to 115 mph and slowed down to just under 90 mph just before impact, a speed which was nearly double the posted speed limit.

The impact of the crash reportedly forced the second vehicle to spin around and crash into a nearby pole. Authorities say that the driver of this vehicle died at the scene, while her daughter was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries. Reports indicate that she suffered severe brain damage in the crash. The driver of the car has been arrested and is facing numerous charges in relation to the crash, including vehicular manslaughter.

After an accident

The presence of reckless behavior in a car accident may only increase the chances that those involved may suffer permanent injuries, and such incidents also run the risk of proving fatal. Those who suffer life-altering harm or sudden loss under similar scenarios may find the fallout difficult to accept, and they might choose to consult with an attorney for advice on their available legal avenues. An attorney can help a client in Arizona better understand the available options and assist him or her in preparing to seek the full amount of compensation entitled through a claim against the party deemed responsible.
