Crash at intersection involving speeding driver proves fatal

Reckless behaviors such as excessive speeding and failure to yield continue to play a role in far too many collisions. Not only can such negligence lead to a greater risk of a dangerous situation, but these factors may also increase the severity of the outcome of a crash. Speeding and failure to yield were listed as contributing factors in a recent car accident that left several with injuries and claimed the life of a 25-year-old man in Arizona.

Recent collision

Authorities received reports of a crash at a local intersection on a recent Friday afternoon. They say it occurred when the driver of a westbound vehicle failed to stop at a red light while approaching an intersection at a high rate of speed. Upon entering the intersection, the vehicle proceeded to crash into a second car that was navigating a left turn. Reports also indicate that a third vehicle and a nearby pedestrian were both hit by debris from the initial crash.

According to reports, the pedestrian was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, while the driver of the second car was pronounced dead at the scene. At least three occupants within the first vehicle were also rushed to medical facilities with injuries, but the nature of their conditions was not provided. Authorities have advised that speeding and failure to yield were contributing factors in the crash.

Reckless driving

The presence of reckless driving behaviors may only lead to a greater risk of a car accident and incidents involving such negligence could carry cataclysmic ramifications. Surviving family members who lose a loved one under similar scenarios may wish to exercise their rights to seek accountability through the civil justice system, but they might need guidance in preparing for this process. Fortunately, there are attorneys in Arizona who can provide a person with insight on what to expect and assist in preparing to pursue the restitution entitled via a wrongful death claim.
